One of the limitations with Views is that we cannot have multiple Entities on the same View. That being said, usually we can get the same point across by simply adding multiple Views to the same Dashboard. In this post, we will create a Personal Dashboard and go over how to add Views to it.

The first step is to go to the Entity(Accounts, Contacts) that you would like to create this Dashboard in. For this example I will be creating a Dashboard on the Service Entity. I went to Service, then Dashboards.

Dashboards can be seen on the left side of the image

The shows us the default Dashboard, and allows us to select all of the other Dashboards in the system.

You can see the personal(my) Dashboards on the left side of the image

To create a new Dashboard, simply press the “new” button.

This will populate the image see below. Lets just select the first layout template for now. Any design can easily be changed later.

In each of the boxes, I select a List component and select an already created View. It is really easy to add views to Forms, but you can also add charts, and iFrame’s. iFrame’s are pretty cool, you can actually add a Dashboard inside another Dashboard with them. Be sure to save the Dasboard before exiting out to check your work.

As you can see below, it has worked!

Dashboards are pretty easy to create at a personal level. Be sure to check them out as they might be very useful to you.
